In August 2022, H&M and the Marsha P. Johnson Institute partnered to provide shopping sprees and makeovers to more than three dozen LGBTQ+ young adults and teenagers. In Columbus, MPJI Strategic Program Coordinator Phantazia ‘Tazer’ Washington and Resource Researcher Ren Davis had an authentic, engaging fireside chat about gender, support and the development of community. In Dallas, actress, model and advocate Dominique Jackson joined MPJI Founder and Executive Director for an uplifting, rallying conversation about confidence and power. The location of these events was strategically selected to provide direct relief to youth in states where anti-LBGTQ+ legislation and rhetoric are creating very real harm to the communities.
